About Us

My name is Mya, and I am the hands, heart, and spirit behind Her Roots. What began as a deep connection to nature has grown into a space where plants, intention, and ancestral wisdom meet.

As a child, I spent time in the country with my grandparents—playing with flowers, seeds, leaves, mixing, creating, and listening. What I didn’t realize then was that I was remembering something ancient. My spirit knew the language of plants long before my mind did.

Her Roots was born from love, loss, and purpose. I honor this work in remembrance of my brother, who lived with lupus and is no longer physically here with me. Loving someone through illness changes you. It awakens questions, deepens compassion, and calls you to move with intention. While I could not change his path, I carry him with me in every blend I create.

Every remedy offered through Her Roots is crafted in small batches with care, respect, and prayer. Nothing is rushed. Nothing is mass-produced. I work with whole herbs and traditional wisdom, honoring the belief that plants carry their own intelligence and energy.

Healing, to me, is layered. It is physical, emotional, ancestral, and spiritual. It is about listening to the body, honoring the earth, and reconnecting with the knowledge our ancestors carried long before it was forgotten.

Her Roots exists because love demanded purpose.
